Ernie

Ernie is a bike fitter, personal coach, and race strategy expert. He has worked as a professional team mechanic and is the head coach/founder of the OZ Development Junior Mountain Bike Team in Northwest Arkansas. Ernie grew up on the bike and spent his teenage years competing in races around the world. He won Junior ROAD Nationals and Mexican National Time Trial Championships as U23. Ernie also raced for the Defeet, Jelly Belly, and Mercury Cycling teams before retiring. Ernie and his partner won the pairs division at Silk Road Mountain Race pairs division in 2019. Ernie also just set the fastest known time on the Arkansas High Country Race in 2022. He has competed in the Ironman triathlon but now enjoys off-road ultra endurance racing.
Randy

Randy is a Louisiana native but now calls Bella Vista, AR his home. He and his wife of 43 years, Henrietta, love everything NWA has to offer. Mountain and gravel biking are his passion. Randy is an endurance veteran, having competed in four Leadville MTB LT100 races in Colorado and three Bentonville-based 100-mile Rule of 3 gravel races. Now both retired, Randy and Henrietta said they would never go into business again, but Tread Medics changed all that. Returning a sidewall slashed tire, with a guaranteed permanent repair to its owner for a fraction of the cost vs repurchasing new, puts a smile on everyone’s face including his. As requests for repairs grew, so did his entrepreneurial flame. Randy is proud and passionate about this unique project that will have a positive impact on the pocketbook and far more crucial, the environment.
